Talk:Getting the game data
Zach, the "ebay" option was offered as an alternative for those of us who do not have a Windows PC where Steam can be installed.
A few years ago I tried to obtain a Doom3 copy from many local stores with no luck. Steam was (is) also not an option for Linux users.
At the end, after a week or so trying my best, I had to buy a used copy from ebay.
I understand you might think the "buy a used copy" option is "less fair" to ID than directly buying it from Steam, but if there's any other alternative for Linux users the wiki would be a good place to point it out.

I understand that ebay might be the best choice for some people, however, I want the ebay search to be targetted so that it only displays PC copies of the game. If someone were to buy the xbox version via that link (which was mostly what was displayed when I clicked it) it'd be unfortunate.--Zachary 09:10, 3 December 2011 (PST)
